Which service fits your situation?
| Service | Best for | My involvement | Typical length |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strategic Advisory | Owners, CEOs and founders who want a senior sounding board on priorities and major decisions | Advise; leadership decides and acts | A single session, a block of hours, or a monthly retainer (three-month minimum) |
| Consulting | Leadership teams with one defined commercial, operational or organizational problem | Diagnose, design and help implement a defined project | Scoped per project, with written milestones |
| Management & Execution | Owners with a plan and no one senior enough to run it | Lead the initiative and the people who deliver it | Typically 6 to 12 months |
| Fractional Executive | Companies that need a CEO, COO, Chief Growth Officer, Chief Revenue Officer or President part-time | Hold the seat part-time, about one day a week | Typically 3 to 12 months |
| Interim Executive Leadership | Companies with an empty leadership seat or a transition under way | Hold the seat with management authority | Typically 6 to 12 months |
| Implementation Oversight | Leadership teams that own a plan and need it tracked, coordinated and kept moving | Track and coordinate; leadership owns the work | Month to month, usually alongside a plan already in motion |
| Mentorship (no cost) | Founders, first-time operators and people early in their careers | One-on-one guidance | Ongoing or ad hoc; one or two mentees at a time |
Not sure which fits?
Start with the situation, not the service. Each of these points to where I'd usually begin:
- Growth has outrun the company's systems, structure or leadership team. Management & Execution or Fractional Executive.
- The owner is still the bottleneck for most decisions and wants a professionally managed company. Strategic Advisory or Fractional Executive.
- Leadership needs clearer priorities and a practical plan for the next 12 to 24 months. Strategic Advisory or Consulting.
- Sales, operations and finance aren't working from the same plan. Consulting or Implementation Oversight.
- A major initiative needs experienced leadership to deliver it: a new location, channel, product line, acquisition or regulatory change. Management & Execution or Implementation Oversight.
- A leadership seat is empty, or a transition is under way. Interim Executive Leadership or Fractional Executive.
If you're still unsure, describe the situation in the contact form and I'll suggest the right starting point on our first call.
Who does the work?
There are two ways to engage, and every engagement is contracted and billed through M2 Ventures:
- Led by me personally. I do the work myself, at my own rates.
- Delivered by the M2 Ventures team under my review. The team carries out the work at a preferred rate, and I direct it and review every deliverable.
An engagement can combine the two: I lead the work, and the team handles the hands-on execution.
How does an engagement start?
Every engagement starts with a conversation and ends up in writing:
- You send a short note about the business and what you need.
- I reply within two business days, with times for a call.
- We talk for 30 minutes, at no cost, about whether and how I can help.
- If it's a fit, I send a written scope and proposal.
I take on a small number of engagements at a time, so I can give each one the attention it needs.
How are engagements priced?
Every engagement is priced by scope, time commitment and level of responsibility, and agreed in writing before work begins. Advisory work is billed by the hour, by the session or as a monthly retainer. Projects are priced per project, and fractional, interim and operating roles are priced monthly. Prices aren't published, because no two engagements carry the same scope or responsibility.
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between a fractional and an interim executive?
A fractional executive holds a leadership seat part-time, about one day a week, for companies that need senior leadership without a full-time hire. An interim executive holds the seat with full management authority for a set period, usually while the company fills it permanently or works through a transition.
What's the difference between Management & Execution and Implementation Oversight?
The difference is who leads the work. In Management & Execution, I lead the initiative and the people who deliver it. In Implementation Oversight, your leadership team owns the plan, and I track milestones, coordinate the work and keep it moving.
Do you work with companies outside Los Angeles?
Yes. I'm based in Los Angeles and work with companies across the United States, remotely and on site as the engagement needs, including weekly travel when required.
What size of company do you work with?
I work mainly with founder-led and family-owned companies of roughly 20 to 250 employees, plus investor-backed companies and startups. Startups usually work with me through the shorter advisory formats.
Is the first conversation free?
Yes. The first 30-minute call is free. It's a chance to decide together whether, and how, I can help.
