Implementation Oversight

Implementation Oversight supports leadership teams that own a plan: I track the milestones, coordinate internal teams and outside providers, and keep the work moving until it's delivered.

Who is it for?

Leadership teams that have a plan, and the people to carry it out, but need experienced oversight so it doesn't stall. It suits founder-led companies running several initiatives at once, and investor-backed companies that report progress to a board.

When does it fit?

  • "We have a good plan, but it keeps slipping behind the day-to-day."
  • "Sales, operations and finance aren't working from the same plan."
  • "We're rolling out a major initiative across several teams and outside providers."
  • "Our board wants regular, reliable progress reporting."

What's included?

Your leadership team owns the work; I make sure it happens. That typically includes:

  • A milestone plan with owners and dates, built from your existing plan
  • A KPI scorecard and dashboard to track progress
  • A regular review cadence, run with your leaders
  • Coordination of internal teams and outside providers
  • Early warning on risks and slippage, with options to fix them
  • Board or investor progress reporting

Formats and typical length

  • Strategic Advisor+ retainer: regular oversight with more frequent access. Month to month, with a three-month minimum.
  • Advisory Block: a defined block of ten hours, for a lighter or shorter rollout.
  • Operating Partner (lighter scope): for a larger initiative that needs more of my time.

Every engagement is scoped and priced in writing after a first conversation.

Who does the work?

I lead the oversight personally. The M2 Ventures team can handle tracking, reporting and coordination under my direction and review. All engagements are contracted and billed through M2 Ventures.

How does an engagement start?

  1. You send a short note about the business and what you need.
  2. I reply within two business days, with times for a call.
  3. We talk for 30 minutes, at no cost, about whether and how I can help.
  4. If it's a fit, I send a written scope and proposal.

Relevant experience

  • Installed a monthly, quarterly and annual review cadence with annual planning, budgets and KPI tracking.
  • Tied production planning to wholesale demand and retail assortment under a single operating plan.
  • Reported to an eleven-member investor board and a five-member shareholder board.
  • Owned state track-and-trace compliance end to end, across hundreds of thousands of units a month.

Frequently asked questions

What is implementation oversight, and who provides it?

Implementation oversight is senior support that keeps a leadership team's plan on track: milestones, coordination, reporting and early warning when work slips. I provide it as an operator who has run these plans myself, so I know where they usually stall.

How is this different from Management & Execution?

The difference is who leads the work. Here, your leadership team owns the plan and the decisions, and I track and coordinate. In Management & Execution, I lead the initiative and the people who deliver it.

Who can help a manufacturer or distributor set up KPIs and an operating rhythm?

I can. I've installed operating rhythms and KPI systems in manufacturing, distribution and multi-site retail businesses. If you need the system designed from scratch, that's usually a Consulting project; oversight then keeps it running.

How are oversight engagements priced?

They're priced by format and level of access, usually as a monthly retainer or a block of hours, and agreed in writing before work begins.
